TOOLKIT PRIVACY POLICY

Effective date: 13-09-2026

This privacy policy explains how the Toolkit app (“Toolkit” or “the app”) handles information. The app is published by AstroForged (“we”, “us” or “our”). If you have any questions, contact us at astrogforgedlabs@gmail.com.

  1. SUMMARY
  • Toolkit does not require an account, and we never ask for your name, email address or any other contact details.
  • The tools work on your device. Camera images, microphone audio and your precise location are processed live on your phone and are never recorded, stored or sent to us.
  • Everything you save in the app, such as counters, timers, calibration settings and scan history, is stored only on your device.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • The app shows advertising provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect and use certain device information, including your device’s advertising ID, to show and measure ads. This is explained in section 5.
  1. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT

We do not operate servers that receive data from the app, and we do not collect, store or have access to:

  • your name, email address, phone number or other contact details
  • photos, video or camera images
  • audio or voice recordings
  • your precise (GPS) location
  • your contacts, files, messages or call history
  • the contents of QR codes or barcodes you scan
  • the measurements, text or other content you create in the app
  1. HOW THE APP USES DEVICE FEATURES AND PERMISSIONS

The app asks for a permission only when you open a tool that needs it, and explains why before your device asks. You can refuse any permission and the rest of the app continues to work. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings.

Camera
Used by the Magnifier, Mirror, Camera Measure and QR & Barcode Scanner tools to show a live camera view. Images are processed on your device in real time. No photos or videos are taken, saved or transmitted, and codes are recognised on the device.

Microphone
Used only by the Sound Meter to measure how loud the surrounding sound is. Audio is analysed in real time to calculate a sound level and is discarded immediately. No audio is recorded, saved or transmitted.

Location
Used only by the Speedometer (to measure speed and distance), the Altimeter (to read altitude on devices without a pressure sensor) and the Compass when you turn on “True north” (to correct for the magnetic variation where you are). Location is used only while that tool is open, is never used in the background, and is never stored or shared with us or with advertisers.

Notifications and alarms
Used by the Stopwatch & Timers tool to alert you when a timer you started finishes. These notifications are created and scheduled on your device.

Motion and environment sensors
The Compass, Bubble Level, Protractor, Metal Finder, Light Meter, Altimeter and similar tools read your device’s built-in sensors, such as the accelerometer, magnetometer, light sensor and barometer. These readings are processed on the device and are not stored or transmitted.

Flashlight and vibration
Used for the Flashlight tool and for vibration feedback.

  1. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

The app saves some information locally so that the tools remember your preferences and your progress, including:

  • settings such as theme, units and sensor smoothing
  • calibration values for the ruler, level, sound meter, altimeter and camera measure
  • your pinned and recently used tools
  • counters, timers and stopwatch laps
  • your QR and barcode scan history
  • text and lists you enter in the Text Tools and Random Picker

This information stays on your device. It is not sent to us, and we cannot access it. You can delete it at any time by clearing the relevant history in the app, by clearing the app’s storage in your device settings, or by uninstalling the app.

Depending on your device settings, Android may include app data in your device’s own backups, such as a Google account backup. Those backups are managed by your device and your Google account, not by us.

  1. ADVERTISING

Toolkit is free to use and is supported by advertising. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC.

To show ads, measure how they perform and help prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK included in the app may collect and process information from your device, such as:

  • your device’s advertising ID
  • your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location, such as your country or city
  • device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, language and app version
  • your interactions with ads, such as ads shown and tapped
  • diagnostic and performance information

We do not give Google AdMob your name, contact details, precise location, camera images, audio, the contents of codes you scan, or anything else you create in the app.

Personalised and non-personalised ads
Depending on where you are and the choices you make, ads may be personalised, meaning based on information Google has collected about your interests, or non-personalised, meaning based only on general context such as the app you are using and your approximate location.

Your consent and choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before your information is used for personalised advertising, using Google’s consent tools. You can review or change your choice at any time from the app’s Settings. Where US state privacy laws give you the right to opt out of targeted advertising, you can exercise it in the same place or through your device settings.

Controlling ads on your device
You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device settings. On most Android devices this is under Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads.

For more information about how Google uses information from apps that show its ads, see:

Google’s use of this information is governed by Google’s own privacy policy. We do not control Google’s data practices.

  1. OTHER THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

On-device barcode recognition
The QR & Barcode Scanner uses Google ML Kit to recognise codes on your device. Camera images and the contents of scanned codes are not sent to Google or to us. ML Kit may send Google limited technical information, such as device model, operating system version, app version and performance metrics, so that Google can maintain and improve the service.

Links you choose to open
If you open a website, email address, phone number or map location from a scanned code, it opens in another app on your device, such as your web browser. Those apps and websites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

Device location services
When a location feature is in use, your location is provided by your device’s location services, such as Google Play services. Those services are governed by your device settings and their provider’s privacy policy.

  1. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Toolkit is a general-audience utility app and is not directed at children under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will help address it.

  1. DATA SECURITY

Because the information the app saves stays on your device, it is protected by your device’s own security, such as your screen lock. Information collected by Google AdMob is sent over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but the app is designed to keep as little information as possible.

  1. DATA RETENTION

We do not retain personal information about you, because we do not collect it. Information stored on your device remains there until you delete it or uninstall the app. Information collected by Google for advertising is retained according to Google’s policies.

  1. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, such as the right to access, correct or delete it, to restrict how it is used, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Because we do not collect or hold personal information about you, most of these rights can be exercised directly on your device, as described in sections 4 and 5, or with Google for advertising data. You are still welcome to contact us with any privacy question or request, and we will help where we can.

  1. INTERNATIONAL USERS

Google may process advertising information in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States, under the safeguards described in Google’s privacy policy.

  1. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add features or change how ads are provided. We will post the updated policy at this address and update the effective date above. If the changes are significant, we will also tell you in the app or on its store listing.
