- SUMMARY
Block Escape: Sliding Puzzle (the app, we, us) is an offline puzzle
game. We do not ask you to create an account, we do not ask for your
name or email address, and we do not operate any server that stores
your data.
The only third party that receives any data from the app is Google
AdMob, which serves the advertisements that keep the app free. This
policy explains exactly what that involves.
- INFORMATION WE COLLECT DIRECTLY
None.
We do not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable
information on our own systems. We operate no backend, no analytics
service, and no user database. We cannot identify you.
- INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
The app saves the following data locally on your device only, so that
your progress and preferences survive closing the app:
- Puzzle progress: which puzzles you have completed, your move
counts, best scores, and whether you matched the optimal solution. - Statistics: puzzles solved, total play time, difficulty tiers
reached, hints and undos used. - Daily challenge history and your current and longest streak.
- Settings: theme (light, dark, or system), sound on or off, haptics
on or off, colourblind-safe palette on or off, and text size. - The saved state of a puzzle in progress, so you can resume it.
- Simple counters used to keep ads infrequent, such as how many
times the app has been opened and when an ad was last shown.
This data never leaves your device. We have no ability to read it. It
is not backed up to any server we control. If Android Auto Backup is
enabled on your device, Google may include this data in your personal
Google account backup; that backup is governed by Google’s privacy
policy, not ours. Uninstalling the app deletes this data from the
device.
- ADVERTISING (GOOGLE ADMOB)
The app displays advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. Ads are the
only reason the app uses an internet connection; all gameplay, puzzle
generation, and progress tracking work fully offline.
To serve and measure ads, Google AdMob and its advertising partners
may collect and process:
- Advertising identifiers (the Android Advertising ID, or, on
devices where it is available, an app set ID). - Device information: device model, operating system version,
language, screen characteristics, and network type. - Coarse location derived from your IP address, typically at country
or region level. We do not request GPS or precise location
permission. - Ad interaction data: which ads were shown, viewed, or clicked, and
whether a rewarded video was completed.
We do not receive this data. It is collected by Google directly inside
the AdMob software development kit. We only see aggregate, anonymous
earnings reports in the AdMob dashboard.
Google’s handling of this data is described here:
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its
services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites - Google Advertising: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Ad formats used:
- Rewarded video, shown only when you choose to watch one in
exchange for an in-game benefit: more hints, skipping a puzzle, or
restoring a daily streak after a missed day. Rewarded video is
never forced and never interrupts play. If no video is available,
the benefit is given for free. - Interstitial (full screen) ads, shown occasionally on the results
screen between puzzles. They are never shown during play, never
after the daily challenge, and not during your first few sessions. - Banner ads on the main menu only. Banners are never shown during
play or on the results screen.
Ads are limited to content suitable for a teen audience.
- YOUR ADVERTISING CHOICES
You can limit ad personalisation at any time:
- Android: Settings, then Google, then Ads, and turn on “Opt out of
Ads Personalisation” or delete your advertising ID. On newer
Android versions this is under Settings, then Privacy, then Ads. - If you delete your advertising ID, you will still see ads, but
they will not be personalised to you.
Where required by law (see section 7), the app will show you a consent
prompt before any advertising is requested, and you can change that
choice later from “Ad privacy options” on the app’s Settings screen.
- PERMISSIONS
The app requests only the Android permissions the Google Mobile Ads
SDK needs:
- INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: to fetch and display
advertisements. No game data is sent over the network. - AD_ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID): allows the ads SDK
to read your device’s advertising ID, as described in section 4.
You can reset or delete that ID in Android settings (section 5).
The app does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone,
photos, files, precise location, phone state, or any other sensitive
permission.
- LEGAL BASIS AND REGIONAL RIGHTS
European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR and UK GDPR)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal basis for processing in
connection with advertising is your consent, obtained through a
Google-certified consent management platform (Google User Messaging
Platform) shown when you first open the app. You may withdraw consent
at any time from the app’s Settings screen. You have the right to
access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your
personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local
supervisory authority. Because we hold no data about you ourselves,
requests concerning advertising data should be directed to Google; we
will assist where we can if you contact us at the address above.
California (CCPA and CPRA)
We do not sell personal information for money. The use of advertising
identifiers for personalised advertising may be considered “sharing”
under the CPRA. California residents may opt out by disabling ad
personalisation as described in section 5, or by contacting us. We do
not knowingly collect the personal information of California residents
under 16.
Canada (PIPEDA)
We collect no personal information directly. Advertising data handled
by Google is described in section 4 and in Google’s own policy.
- CHILDREN
The app is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent
minimum age in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children. If you believe a child has provided
personal information through the app, contact us at
astroforgedlabs@gmail.com and we will act promptly.
- DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Because all game data is stored locally, you control its lifetime. You
can erase it at any time by using “Reset progress” in the app’s
Settings screen, by clearing the app’s storage in Android Settings, or
by uninstalling the app. We hold no copy and therefore cannot delete
anything on your behalf.
- SECURITY
Game data is stored in the app’s private storage area, which on
Android is sandboxed from other applications. As we transmit no
personal data ourselves, there is no transmission for us to secure;
the ads SDK communicates with Google over encrypted connections.
- CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy, for example if we add a new ad format or a
new feature. The “Last updated” date at the top will change, and the
current version will always be available at the policy URL above.
Material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
