NINEFOLD — PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains what information the Ninefold app (“the app”) handles, why, and the choices you have. Ninefold is made by the developer shown on its Google Play store page (“we”, “us”). If you have any questions, contact us at astroforgedlabs@gmail.com.

  1. SUMMARY
  • Ninefold does not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other contact details.
  • Your saved games and settings stay on your device.
  • The app is free and shows advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect and use certain device information to show and measure those ads, as described below.
  1. INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

The app stores your saved games (up to three save slots, progress, found objects, evidence and choices) and your settings (volume, accessibility options) in the app’s private storage on your device. This information is not sent to us or to anyone else. It is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear the app’s data in your device settings.

We do not run our own analytics or tracking, and we do not collect information about how you play.

  1. ADVERTISING

The app contains ads served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC:

  • Rewarded video ads, which play only when you choose to watch one (for example, to receive an extra hint, reveal an object or skip a puzzle).
  • Banner ads on a small number of screens (the map, the journal and chapter transitions).

To serve ads, Google AdMob may automatically collect and process information such as:

  • your device’s advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID);
  • your IP address, and an approximate location derived from it;
  • device and app information (such as device model, operating system version, language, and app version);
  • information about the ads you see and interact with;
  • diagnostic information needed to deliver ads and prevent fraud.

Google uses this information to deliver ads, measure their performance, prevent fraud and abuse, and, where permitted and where you have agreed, to show personalised ads. Information collected by Google is handled under Google’s own privacy policy. For more detail, see:

We do not receive your advertising identifier or any personal information from Google. We only receive aggregated, non-identifying reports about ad performance.

  1. YOUR CHOICES AND CONSENT
  • Consent: if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, using Google’s consent tool. You can review or change your choice at any time in the app under Settings > Privacy & ad choices.
  • Non-personalised ads: if you do not consent to personalised ads, you may still see non-personalised ads, which use limited information (such as the content of the app and approximate location).
  • Advertising ID: on Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, in your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on your device).
  • Rewarded ads are always optional. You never have to watch one to finish the game.
  • United States privacy laws: we do not sell your personal information. Google’s use of information for personalised advertising may be considered “sharing” under some US state laws. Where required, the app lets you opt out of that through the same Privacy & ad choices option, and you can also opt out of ads personalisation in your device settings.
  1. PERMISSIONS

The app uses internet and network access only to load ads, and the advertising ID permission used by Google AdMob. It does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files.

  1. CHILDREN

Ninefold is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.

  1. DATA SECURITY AND RETENTION

We do not keep any personal information about you on our systems. Game data stays on your device until you delete it. Information collected by Google for advertising is kept according to Google’s retention policies.

  1. INTERNATIONAL USERS

Information collected by Google for advertising may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, under the safeguards described in Google’s privacy policy.

  1. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always available in the app (Settings > Privacy policy) and on the app’s Google Play store page. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
